I am a hockey fan.
Actually, let me go off on this for a minute, as I once was a fan, then became a non-fan, then was a re-born fan... Wait a minute... Hold on a sec. I gotta straighten this out...
I played hockey from the age of 8 to 16. It was a fun time; I was pretty good, but at the beginning of my sophomore year of High School, my family moved to Florida. Now, there are a lot of great things that have happened to me since moving here, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. But, hockey went out the window, as there was really no such thing down here then... Damn. So, being a kid and loving hockey, I naturally followed it closely. After moving, I left it behind in a (sad) attempt to re-structure my life in my new environment. Now, if you can tell me how forgetting hockey even existed in any way was benefiting me then, you're a better person than I. So, life went on.
Years later, after screwing my head on properly (it was left cocked to one side, hanging by a handful of wires for a while - ugly sight), I found the allure of the game again. And, I've been in that spot ever since, loving every minute of it.
Needless to say, I have sat proud on my throne of many cushions, in front of my wall of many moving pictures, enjoying the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year. And which team, you may be asking, is Chewbode following? Well, none other than my home team, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
And why, you may be asking, is Chewbode flicking his fingers all over his keyboard in an attempt to splash this post up onto the blog? Well, the Lightning just kicked the Habs ass. The Bolts win one more game against them; they're going to the Finals. Awesome. Thursday will be an exciting game.
The Habs have not a chance.
