I just realized you mentioned it was an SD card. InitDisk can fix that too if you have an SD-to-USB adapter.
Steve Gibson's free InitDisk may be able to fix that USB stick. It'll delete all data, but might make the USB recognizable. Just run the program as Administrator and follow the prompts. www.grc.com/initdisk.htm
