Chewbode.com is Back!

The site’s back up and running! Chewbode.com is now hosted with 3essentials. A big thanks to Doug, Stacy and Russ for their help in getting the site transferred!

In other news, Will’s in town and we all congregated this past Tuesday to shoot several scenes from the new production. The day’s shooting went very well and we got a lot of coverage. Afterward, we all went out and had a bite to eat at the 24/7 Restaurant.

I’ve got the day off today and will be finishing up some Christmas chores and getting the bottom of the tree filled-out. Shauna’s going out with my mom tonight to finish up some last-minute shopping and Millard and I will probably get together and hang out and do the weekly deflate.

Site Update

Well, you can probably tell I’m tired, as 1.) it’s 3:00am and 2.) I decided (for some odd reason) to change some of the graphics on the site. In my tiredness, I’ve come up with the idea to change out the graphics on the masthead of the site for each major holiday/time of year. This’ll add some spice to the pages. Yeah. Sure.

Wrote a couple reports for the MutantMall.com CRM tonight. I’ve also decided to move this site from a server hosted in my house to an actual, real hosting facility. This will most definitely increase speed and reliability for the site. More on that in the coming days…

Digital Archive Now Live

The Digital Archive section of the site is now live! I’ll be putting a bunch of stuff up here over the coming weeks. The first things I’ve posted up there is a nearly complete list of all the video games I own, and a fairly up-to-date list of all my comics. As time goes on, you’ll see my entire DVD, CD, collectibles, and artwork collection up there as well, among other stuff. I want to make this my Chewbode Museum, if you will. If you wanna know what I’m into or some old, interesting stuff, just go up there.

I’ve also decided to start working out again. As soon as I get home tomorrow night I’m gonna hit the gym and do some free weights and cardio. I need to lose some of the turkey-day poundage I put on (those potatoes were awesome).

Closet Secrets

Oh fuck. What else is Chewbode up to now? Well, as if I didn’t have enough shit going on, I’ve decided to expand the Chewbode museum up on the site. What the hell is the Chewbode museum, you ask? Nothing. Abso-fucking-lutely nothing. It’s a fucked up, insecure attempt to organize a bunch of stuff I found while cleaning out the closet in the studio today. I’ve got a stack about twelve inches high of things sitting on my desk that needs to be kept; Out of half a closet of shit. These things are neat, fun, goofy, things that I’m going to put online for others to see. I really don’t give a fuck if you like them or not, I just need to do this. Then I can put them away in a nice tidy little box for the rest of my life. Or throw them out. Whichever makes more sense in 5 years, when I clean the closet again. So, I’m adding this project into the projects list. There won’t be a glimmer of change to the site until the entire museum is ready, so don’t be trolling the site looking for it (wait… what the fuck kind of stupid shit am I talking about?). Uh… SCOUR the website for the new stuff as frequently as humanly possible, and jack my fucking hit meters up, beotchs.

Seriously, I’m going to be uploading some stuff with some (hopefully) fun little stories and such. I’ve got a lot of things I want to do to the site: some historical, preservation-style things, some just fun, some just dorky. Check back in a few days. I hope to have it done soon.

More Than Meets The Eye

A project I’ve been working on for quite some time now is the Battlefield 1942 Transformers Mod video game. For those of you not familiar with the Transformers, check this out. I’ve only been doing some minor work here and there, mostly 3D modeling. The project manager has asked that I start working on some alternate aircraft/spacecraft modes for Optimus Prime and Megatron. I’m beginning the sketches and concept designs today and will work on them throughout the weekend. I hope the begin modeling no later than Monday night. Stay tuned to the Projects page for more info.

Back To Work

The last five days off were great. I really needed that. Granted, two of the days were normal weekend days, but it helped. I played a lot of video games, ate some pizza, and relaxed.

My and Shauna’s 10th wedding anniversary is tomorrow, so on Saturday we went out and bought ourselves new wedding rings. Finally. We’ll pick them up tomorrow night and then head out for a nice dinner someplace.

This week is Schunk’s last week at work. It’ll definitely suck not working with him anymore. Five years of working (working well) next to someone really is cool. Anyway, we’ll get together on the weekends to play video games or catch a baseball game, or something along those lines.

After the much needed break, I’m diving back into my website again tonight. My goal is to finish the graphics by the end of the week. After that, Jeff and I need to asses the entire project (app and website) and see what’s left. I really want to begin marketing this November 1.

The Winds of Change

My old colleague, Vicky, stopped by the office today. I haven’t seen her since February sometime. Since she lives in the Big Apple now, we only chat via IM anymore, or the occasional phone call. It was nice to see her.

While she was here, we went in to see her old boss (who is my boss), and all three of us we talked for a little bit. Then, my boss stands up, closes his office door and starts in with “since I’ve got both of you here…”. He then goes on to tell us that he’s resigning from the company essentially. Well, actually, he’s moving on to another part of the company, but won’t have any association with our office anymore. I think Wednesday is his last day here, as he ships out to that other division to help get them up to speed (that division was recently acquired by my company). So, that was a shock. Most of the senior staff here knows, and it’ll become public knowledge tomorrow at our company-wide, monthly staff meeting. I have mixed feelings about him leaving. I’ve been with the company almost 5 years now, and over the past year things have happened between he and I that really strained our professional and personal relationships. I wish him the best, though.

Jeff and I have switched our roles in our side-job. I was working on finishing up our app, while he was working on the programming and structure of the website. Tonight, we’ll swap again and I’ll start on the graphics-side of the side (the programming is done), and he’s gonna work on tweaks in the app.
