The end of an era is now upon us. Done are the days of crazy office antics with a Mr. Jonathan J. Schunk. Jon's last day is today. He's moving on to work for the county government offices. Some highlights of the past five years: Monkies Nick's Hot Dogs Battlefield 1942 Medal of Honor Starfleet Command III Cincinnati Reds games at lunchtime Airshows Salty Dog The Matrix Reloaded "Thwip!" The office move Intrepid Museum Dog track dogs and burgers Coronas Transformers "Body Massage" "Pork Chop Sandwiches" Porsche "Boo chick boo!" Jon and I will continue to hang out and play LAN games, etc. So, his ass is still gonna be having to deal with me. Wait... that didn't sound right... You know what I mean... Tonight Millard's coming over. Return of the Jedi will be on the big screen. Excellent. I think we're also gonna fix the intonation on my...

Ahh
I did nothing yesterday. Ahh. Actually, after heading to McDonald's, I came home and played CoH for several hours. Around 3:00pm I popped Vice City into the PS2 and played that until Shauna came home from work. After dinner, we both played X-Men Legends until 10:30pm. I think Mil's gonna stop by tonight. Return of the Jedi will be featured in our singleplex. Sick Thought of the Day: Smelling Jacko's Fingers
Wow
I wonder how many households had a Star Wars DVD playing last night? Mine was one. I went to Best Buy and picked up my copy and as I stood in line, I scanned over all the other customers waiting, and I noticed that every single one of them had a copy of the Trilogy in their hands. There must've been about 30 people waiting in line. Crazy. I also picked up my pre-ordered Battlefront game. I popped that in at home and played it for about 15 minutes last night. That game is amazing looking. Wow. Of course, after that Millard, Shauna and I all sat and watched Episode IV, saw most of the things on the bonus disc, and listened to about half of the Episode IV commentary track. Wow. I tip my hat to the Lucasfilm team on a job well done. The movie looked fantastic. Sick...
The Force Is With Us
I'll be leaving the office today around 2:30pm to go down to my father-in-law's house to help him run some errands. After that, I'm gonna go to Best Buy and pick up the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. I'm also gonna stop off at EBGames and pick up my pre-ordered Star Wars Battlefront for the PC. Millard, Shauna, and I are gonna watch Episode IV at my place over some cold sodas and some hot popcorn. Excellent. My side business will suffer the next few days, until I've filled my Star Wars quota. I recently purchased City of Heroes and have been playing that a bit. Really cool game. Schunk came over last night and I showed it to him, and he got pretty excited about it, which is impressive, as it takes a lot for a video game to impress him. It's definitely a game I'll play for a...
Long Ago…
As of now, Ivan looks to be veering off to the west a lot more. What a difference 24 hours can make. As much as I'm bothered that it's hitting the Florida panhandle, I'm glad it's missing us. Star Wars fever is in the air: I'm starting to get excited about the Star Wars Trilogy coming out on DVD next Tuesday. I think I'll be watching a lot of it in the coming weeks. It just so happens (no... I'm sure it was planned) that Star Wars Battlefront is also coming out that day. I'm gonna go pick up a copy at EB Games for the PC. Also, Schunk came over and we FINALLY finished a the last level of Rogue Squadron III on the GameCube. Man, that level was really friggin hard. After watching Star Wars: Empire of Dreams on A&E last night, Millard and I both got inspired....
Fantastic Friday
I met with Dave last night from TriBridge at 5:30pm at Applebee's near where I work. He ordered a big burger and I got boneless buffalo wings. For about 50 minutes we sat and talked about the job position and I told him that I thought that the technology they're using is exciting and that I really see it being the wave of the future for companies. I got a very good feeling about the interview, and I get the impression he did too. So, he went ahead and thanked me and told me that Monday I would either need to go on another interview with them, or I'd be getting an offer, depending on how everything went. I left him with the bill (which he offered to pay). Mil came over and we sat around for a while talking about the Matrix and how much I didn't care for...
The Grindstone
I wish I could say I had an interesting weekend, but I spent it at the office. 53 hour week this week. And that's with taking Monday off because I was sick, and having to leave 3.5 hours early on Tuesday as well. Yuk. The only fun thing that happened was that my wife and I went to the dollar theater last night and saw Around the World in 80 Days. It was a fun movie. It really helped get my mind off work for a couple of hours. Sick Thought of the Day: Shit Moustache

It's been a while since I posted last. Things have been pretty busy for me the last week or so. Anyway... Saw Catwoman this weekend. The movie was OK, but after Spider-Man and X-Men, the story seemed very campy; a little too comic-bookish. I guess it may be my viewing preference, as I like the way the directors of these Marvel movies are portraying the characters as real people, and the "laws" of comicbookdom are not applied too much to the movies. I've always had trouble latching on to DC story lines, as they just seem too far-fetched. Halle Berry was alright, but the constant purring and cat-like movements really hurt the film. I'd give it a C+, and that's mainly for Benjamin Bratt's always-great portrayal of a cop. Also bought a new acoustic guitar yesterday. It wanted something inexpensive that had a decent sound, so I got a Yamaha...
Dormio, Ergo Sum
Well, the last couple of days were hellish: Monday at around 4:15pm the e-mail server at the office died. We called Microsoft and they recommended we repair the database. We started that around 9:00pm. Schunk and I stayed until 2:00am, and then went home to sleep. Total hours worked: 18.00 Tuesday we came in to find the server still hadn't finished the repair. We toiled over the machine until 7:00pm, when we decided to cut our losses and restore a backup file from Thursday night, effectively losing four days of e-mail data. I volunteered to stay the "first shift" to make sure the backup routine didn't encounter any problems. Schunk left at 9:00pm. I stayed until 5:15 am. Total hours worked: 21.25 I got home and fell asleep at 6:00am on Wednesday. I slept all day and stayed home from work. It really sucks working all 40 hours in two...
Habitual Mastication
Last night I watched about a third of Tron with Millard. For some fucked up reason, the DVD freaked out (twice) at the point where Flynn is talking to RAM in the cell block right after he gets digitized. Oddly enough, the digitizing of the disc screwed up, and all these odd colored blocks were all over the screen while the inverted movie played in the background. Like I said, fucked up.So, after getting sick of that real quick, I popped in Spider-man and we watched that. Millard fell asleep on the couch...After the first snore, I slowly approached him like the prowling cat that I am. First came the sweaty palms, then the salivation as I touched the zipper on his pants. He mumbled something in his sleep and shifted, but didn't wake.My eyes glazed over. As I unzipped his pants, I dropped my zipper too. The both of...
